Aundrea Townsend-Lam & Alison Vicks joined the Wilderness Kids Board of Directors on March 10!

Wilderness Kids is excited to announce the addition of two talented new members to our Board of Directors. On March 10, we welcomed Aundrea Townsend-Lam and Alison Vicks for three year terms.

Aundrea brings over ten years of experience in education, transitioning from classroom teaching to education finance. She currently serves as a Resource Allocation Analyst for Washington, D.C.’s Office of Out of School Time. Aundrea is passionate about equity and access, believing every young person deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive beyond the classroom. Beyond her professional work, she loves exploring the outdoors with her husband and son, getting lost in a good book, and planning her next travel adventure. Aundrea was elected unanimously as Wilderness Kids' new Treasurer.

Alison grew up in Reno, Nevada but has lived in Virginia for 15 years and now considers it home.  She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2015 and has been practicing law for the federal government since then, both at the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury.  Her interest in the outdoors began as a young child hiking and camping with her family, and when not working, she might be found exploring the beautiful region in which we live, including some favorite trails at Great Falls and the Shenandoah.  In addition to hiking, Alison's interests include cooking, baking, yoga, dance, French language and culture, reading, and gardening.

We are excited about the positive impact Alison and Aundrea will make with Wilderness Kids! You can read about the rest of our fantastic team here.
